Rachael Mason is a native New Yorker who grew up on the mean cobblestone streets of SoHo.
She is an actress, writer, director, and improvisor.
After spending some time in the night life and restaurant scenes of NYC, she moved on to acting, studying at Atlantic Theater Company, and eventually finding a comedy home at the Upright Citizens Brigade Theater. She has since transitioned into writing and directing, and has written for talk shows, web series, theater, television, and film. She often writes for the internet and her writing can be found on everything from Rover.com to Reductress.
As a long time faculty member at the Upright Citizens Brigade Theater she has taught in both New York and Los Angeles (and now online, so everywhere).
As a member of several UCB sketch teams, including long-running veteran team Gramps, she wrote and produced monthly shows at UCB for over six years. As a writer/director she was responsible for the viral video “Shit Girls Say About the Show ‘Girls,’” co-wrote and produced the web series “Shannon O’Neill Is…..” and wrote, directed and produced the web series, “So This is the Place” about the horrors of apartment hunting in New York City.
She is currently writing a horror feature and hopes to direct it in 2022.
